"Unfinished Business": Minnesota Elite 7v7 Gears Up for New Season After Three 7v7 Championships

As the calendar turns to a new year, one 7on7 football team is entering the 2025 season with an unwavering focus and a chip on their shoulder. Coming off three championships in the previous season, Minnesota Elite are back for their third consecutive year, and this time, they're motivated by something greater than just titles.

Their mantra? "Unfinished Business."

It’s a theme that resonates deeply within the heart of the team, Coach Zay (18U) knows that expectations are sky-high. But he's also confident that the squad has what it takes to defend their legacy and continue to dominate.

"We’ve earned those championships, but there's always more to prove," Coach Zay said at the team's tryout. "We’re not looking back—we're looking forward, and we're hungry for more. 'Unfinished Business' is our way of saying we’re not satisfied. We’ve done it before, but we’ve got work left to do."

High Expectations, Bigger Goals

The stakes are high. Not only is the team looking to defend its titles, but they are also aiming to set a new standard for excellence in the 7on7 circuit. Coaches and players alike have spoken about raising the level of intensity, discipline, and preparation, making it clear that development, recruitment, and championships are the goal. It's more than just about adding another trophy to the shelf.

"It's about building a dynasty," said team founder Justin McDonald. "We're not just chasing titles—we're chasing greatness. Every practice, every game, every play is an opportunity to get better. We want to leave a lasting legacy, and change the football culture in Minnesota."

Despite the challenges ahead, there’s no denying that the hype surrounding this team is real. With a talented roster, seasoned leadership, and a chip on their shoulder, Minnesota Elite 7v7 are primed to make history.

Looking Ahead: The Road to Redemption

As the season kicks off, the team will face stiff competition, with several top teams gunning for them. But one thing is clear: Minnesota Elite 7v7 are ready for the challenge. Their theme of “unfinished business” serves as a reminder that they are not taking anything for granted.

The opening tournament of the 2025 season will be a good test for the squad, as they compete in the Midwest Legends Classic. "We’ve got a target on our backs," said Coach Zach. "But that’s just the way we like it. We’re ready for whatever comes our way. We’re focused, and we’re not done yet."

With the bar set higher than ever, Minnesota Elite 7v7 are entering the season with one goal in mind: to finish what they started. After three 7v7 championships, it’s clear they’re hungry for more—and they’re not stopping until they achieve greatness.

The journey to compete for more title's begins now, and the world will be watching.
